'Williamson subsequently admitted ownership of the cultivation and told police that he grew his own cannabis to feed his habit'
If that's really what he said, he's a worse tw@t than I initially thought he was.

When you dive down through the article you cam see its far more tragic than stupid. He was using cannabis to control his medical condition.

Legalisation of cannabis for medicinal use, rather than throwing him in jail would be the best outcome here

If someone has an illness in jail does the state have to pay for their treatment? Maybe he can get on a trial to use one of the pharmaceutical cannabis products that's being developed in the UK.

Yeah, fair enough, didn't read the whole thing. Got as far as 'to feed his habit' and thought 'great, that's what every loser who thinks tokers are junkies wants to hear'.
Thinking about it now, they were probably the cops' words, or the courts.
Just saying I used to smoke a fair bit of weed, for years, gave up smoking altogether (no ciggies either) a while ago, no ill effects, no withdrawal symptoms other than the nicotine craving, and that's gone now. Habit, my hole.

Having a detailed knowledge of many other plants and their medicinal properties would be considered a good thing. Cannabis though and he's the devil...
