I have an iPad first gen and got the Sky Go app up and running, next thing is to connect it to the TV I have to see if it's watch-able Sky Sports on another TV in the house.

Anyone got recommendations for an iPad to TV cable? Apple sell a VGA adapter for 29euro but that won't do sound. Any one got a suggestion? Thanks! :D

If you connect your iPad to a TV the SkyGo app will not work. Sky have disabled it from working on your Telly.

if you jailbreak there is an app called displayout that will mirror the display to your tv. You can also customize it to fit the screen perfectly. It works great with xbmc as you can the readjust the aspect ratio after

I use a non apple cable I bought on eBay,it only cost me 3 or 4 euro, and along with 2 apps from Cydia I can watch any app on my tv.The apps are called TV Mirror Out(free) and Resupported(this app allows you use non apple cables and costs around 2 euro). Any app can be displayed on your tv and there are simple settings to get the picture to fit perfectly on your screen etc.

It well worth jailbreaking for if you haven't already.

I'm curious to see what happens once iOS 5 is out and jailbroken, I have an iPad 1 and would like to mirror without a cable, but it's alleged iOS 5 mirroring will be iPad 2 only.

I wonder will some of the current cydia apps get updated to do wireless mirroring?

What's stopping iPad 1 mirroring? Maybe the processor can't handle it?

    I'm already jailbroken which is a start :) 4.3.1 I think.

What cable did you get for 3 euro? Was it an RCA cable or VGA/HDMI?

Probably the same reason video/voice control/etc was held back on the iPhone 3g - give people an incentive to upgrade

Mine is an RCA cable. It does the job!
One thing however, when you are buying be sure to get one that has the USB charger part attached as not all of them have it. eBay has loads of them.

Just bought one for 13euro. Has the USB charge as well which is handy. Now I just have to download Resupported for 2 euro!

Have you got the eBay link or the seller name you used?

No unfortunately not. I had a look back through my eBay emails and the seller I used doesn't seem to be regged anymore. There are lots of other cables there though although they seem to be more expensive that the one I bought. Looks like 11 euro seems standard now. I presume these will work as well. I just randomly bought mine from an eBay search so hopefully they're all similarly equipped to work equally well.
The cable is very handy to for attaching the iPad/idevice to the telly and playing music via it's speakers.
Hope YE both have luck with the cables you get.

    I bought this one:

Just tried it this morning with TV2 Mirror TVout and the Resupported4 10-day trial and it works a treat with Sky Go! :) Picture is excellent, pretty similar to Sky Sports SD.

    Best 15euro I ever spent!!!

    Interesting discussion.

I am thinking of buying an Apple iPad2.

Would this cable work with it?

    I see seller states:
"Compatible with up to 4.2 Firmware"

One of the reasons I am thinking of buying is because I spend a lot of time away from home and was thinking of using Sky Anytime to download movies to my iPad and watch them, say, on a hotel TV.

    Would this be possible?

It doesn't look like Sky allow it.
