Results; Martin Adams 3 Steve Douglas 1,John Walton 1 Glen Durrant 3. Adams always looked comfortable in his victory. Walton the first seed to crash out but his opponent Glen Durrant was very impressive with a near 100 average.

Results; Gary Robson 3 Andrew Gilding 1,Scott Waites 3 Ewan Hyslop 0. Robson v Gilding a scrappy game,Waites very impressive with 170 and 164 finishes.

Results; Dean Winstanley 3 Rick Hofstra 0,Tony West 3 Christian Kist 2. The less said about the Winstanley v Hofstra game the better! A brilliant game between West and Kist with both players averaging in the high 90's and West winning on a brilliant 106 outshot after Kist had missed 5 darts at doubles to win the game!

Waites beats Adams in a cracking semi 5-3 with Waites averaging 102.3 and Adams just over 100.

And I have to add it was an absolute pleasure to watch a quality match without the sideshow of 3000+ eejits booing players, screaming during shots or dressing like deranged lunatics in the hope of getting a chance to gurn at a tv camera.

A good game, ~1000 spectators showing respect to the players - and ESPN announcing they are going to show a few more tournaments. The BDO may still have some life in the old dog yet.

edit : for balance the second semi-final was a dire standard. Dean Winstanley beat Montgomery 5-4.

Waites beat Winstanley in the final 7-2. I was happy Adams didn't do the 3 in a row and equal Bob Anderson's record. Anderson won his playing from the 1st round,Adams gets a bye into the last 16 as a top 8 seed which IMO is a joke!

Overall I thought the coverage on ESPN was ok for their 1st darts tournament and I'm sure it'll only improve. They are doing all the live coverage of the Lakeside and while it'll be missed from mainstream TV the BBC really didn't do the Lakeside any favours with their dreadful coverage of it the past few years!

Martin Adams was going for 4-in-a-row in the Masters - - he equalled Bob Anderson's 3-in-a-row last year.

I saw him boasting about this on ESPN before the semi-finals.

Thanks for correcting me Dartgod,he did sadly equal Bob Anderson's record:mad:! He's out to equal Bristow's 3 in a row Lakeside record next January which I hope he doesn't achieve!
