    Folks,

Did anyone just see the Network 2 news, Davy fitzgerald was on it. He had what appeared to be a fairly serious equipment used for analysing matches.

Does anyone know what kind of system it is??

It seemed fairly high tech in fairness.

Just had a look now since you got me intrigued. It's 18:25 onwards at http://www.rte.ie/player/#!v=1110434

Being honest it doesn't look that high-tech, just a couple of video players with a separate controller for slowing-down certain parts of it (haven't a clue what it's called). Nothing like what they have over in the Premier League these days with their interactive tactics boards and all that. It's pretty interesting none the less and in fairness to him as well he's a good analyst, you can see why he had a stint on the Sunday Game before he came to us.

i seen it just now, with Davy having kit like that there should be no problem putting this new hawkeye technology in all the County pitches around the country,
it's a big difference to the facilities at our local club.

    Thanks

I think we spoke about that on the old waterford thread.... 2 guys from west waterford made an application and analysed each players performance from the stand on two laptops.... this was then emailed to the dressing room at half time.....

I think the equipment he was using on RTE is different to the application you're on about. I thought the equipment shown on RTE was just stuff in their studios, could be wrong though.

Is this last year? The lads in question I believed designed the package and compiled the info but they had more than the two of them maning the equipment at each match as it was more than a two man job. I believe it cost them €16,000 as well out of there own pockets. This year the Western Board sponsored €15,000 for the stats package. Bit of a kick in the teeth to the lads that were there last year.

I agree that I highly doubt it's the same thing

Quite rough on the lads, who struck me as selfless, dyed in blue and white supporters, who even stumped up their own cash. Remember as well, it was more than a 2 person operation, more like a match day team, and sounded very professional. Shame they were barking up the wrong tree with Davy, who seems incapable of seeing reason once a game is underway.

You can have all the hi tech gear you want but there is no substitute for a couple of shrewd selectors on the line and more important. good hurlers on the pitch.
