I'm trying to change over a US plug to a UK plug, I know the device will be OK to work, however I cant identify witch wire is live or neutral?
does it matter witch wire goes to each pin in the plug?
or can the live be identified?

    Thanks guys

We use 230V here. As this device is from the US it may be designed to operate at 110V

    US convention is:

    Neutral white or grey
Live black or red (2nd hot)

    Si_guru is correct regarding colour

As your device requires AC, it wont matter which way you connect the two black wires, are the wires numbered 1 & 2? if so consider 1 as live

It wont make any difference which way you connect the 2 wires. Either way will be fine once it is ok for the 230v here.
