Can A Linksys WRT54G Router Be Taken Apart Without Damaging It?

I have a WRT54G onto which I've installed the Tomato firmware.

I want to fix the router on a centrally located plasterboard wall so as to provide the best wireless coverage throughout my house. However there are no holes on the back of the router with which to hang it so I thought I'd open it up and drill a few into the back of the casing, but after removing the rubber feet there are no screws to undo.

Can the casing be taken apart without damaging it?

    Thanks for reading.....

Why dont you just use some of that heavy duty velcro... I have it holding up my router and it's brilliant and clean..

You can get it in most Woodys, or even Halfords.. though the prices can vary hugely and it's not particularly cheap.. Another alternative would be to use that No More Nails double sided tape... Either way, I wouldnt go drilling the walls..

Do a search for WRT54G disassembly on google, plenty of links.

    Link 2

Youtube vid of WRT54GL, but probably similar in construction

Thanks, JonathanAnon. I'll be using one screw drilled into the wooden upright supporting the plasterboard.

God, I feel a bit stupid right now - I never even thought of Googling for it. Followed the first link and had it apart in a few seconds.

Thanks for your help, both of you.

linksys used to do a wall bracket called the sm01 that would do exactly what you want it to do, although i'm not sure where you'd get one now.

amazon in the US still seem to have them.
