    Hi

I was thinking of doing the Diploma/BSc in Information Technology course that's on offer at DCU, has anyone know if it's worth doing? Has anyone done this course? They offer it as part time course which would suit me as I am working full time.
I would be great full for any feed back

    Thanks

Feedback is usually just for site issues, rather than on general things!

    Hey all,

I am also considering the Grad Diploma (Part-Time) in Information Technology in DCU. I assume this is the same course the OP is referring to...

    I have a few questions;

    1. can you take on extra modules so as to obtain a Masters Qualification (once you have successfully completed the Grad.Dip)? So far, I can't find this info in the specifications re: the Grad Dip on the DCU website. I feel that a Masters qualification will carry more weight for prospective employers.

    2. what are the subjects like on the course i.e. which subjects did you find most difficult if coming from a non-IT background

    3. how has it helped your career prospects
    Any info appreciated ;-)

    Tks.

    NO they are not!
You are referring to the GDF (taught in School of Computing as either full or part-time) and OP is referring to the Oscail (Distance Education) degree.

    Short answer is NO.
Longer answer is you used to be able to until this/last year, but the rules have changes an the MSc in Information Technology (MDF) which followed the GDF is no longer offered to new students.
Can't answer the rest of your questions, but I am sure others can.

    Apologies - no offence intended!

    Nothing to apologise for.
Having not taken the GDF I sorry I can't answer your questions, but I would guess the most difficult course for many is the Java Programming. It appears to be a reasonably popular course PT and FT.
