I'm a student at DKIT and recieve the maintenence grant? and have a few repeats to do i've already done a few and tbh I don't think I've done too well so far. If I want to drop into a PLC course will I still get the maintenence grant?

From my previous experiences with the grants office you can only get a maintenance grant if you are moving up a level. i.e from level 5 to level 6 and so on. I know a few people who were in your situation and didn't get the grant when they dropped back a level. It's extremely unfair. Maybe if you ring them and tell them you have dropped out they might let you but on a general basis they don't unless it's due to some medical factor.

    Hope I'v helped

Could I switch to a different course in the same college and still receive some sort of grant? TBH I don't like my course ( Computing ) and I failed a few exams mainly down to my lack of maths skills I don't want to leave college but would like to switch course to something different maybe PR or Business but i'd only switch if I could get some sort of grant because I couldn't afford it otherwise

I don't think so to be honest. Maybe talk to your student welfare officer. They might be able to help you.
