Up to a couple of days old, tie twine around the tail at the cut off point, and cut tail with new stanley knife on a flat piece of wood , dip in botox powder and then again every couple of hrs till it is healed.

I docked the tails on my litter of springers, I got some new stanley blades and scalded them in boiling water. Tied off the tails, got my friend to hold the pups while I sliced the tails off at an angle through the underside of the tail and then cauterized them. I used plenty of antiseptic and antibacterial wipes.

I done my pups at 5 days old but I think I could have done them earlier, they were fine afterwards and the tails are nice, I left them with just over half their tails, I hate to see springers with stumps.
