    What type of grants are there??I heard there is one if you are living such a distance from the college!! Can anyone give me an idea of this??

    The distant quotas are for the adjacent and
    The non adjacent rates.you get the adjacent rate if you live within 28 miles
    Of the college.if you live beyond 28 miles you get the non adjacent rate. The non adjacent rate is much higher than the adjacent one!!for example I was getting the non adjacent rate last year and I got 3160.this year (since the distant quota has changed) I will be getting 1200. So in my case anyway there is over a 60% difference in comparing the two rates

    You need to get onto your County/City Council - that's where the grants come from. You'll find all the info on your Council's website under 'higher education grants'.

    It doesn't matter whether you are driving to college or not - all they care about it how far away from the college you are living, hence the adjacent and non-adjacent rates.

    The deadline for all of them was the end of August afaik
