I am very happy with the additions of de Gea, Jones and Young. Also Cleverley coming back into the squad from loan has also improved it significantly, imo.

Would've liked to have seen more action the other way, though. I'd hoped that Gibson and PiG would be sold and Macheda be loaned out to a PL club.

    OUT 13
Insua, Ayala, Aquilani, Konchesky, Jovanovic, ElZhar, Kyrgiakos, Ince, Mavinga
    Poulsen, Cole, N'Gog, Merieles

    IN 7
Adam, Henderson, Downing, Doni, Enrique, Coates, Bellamy.

The squad completely reshaped over the summer, it's now notably better, smaller and younger. Its now also very much Dalglish's team and those who are not part of the vision are gone (or going).

    I'm happy.

    Jones : excellent start.
De Gea : poor start but optimistic. :)
Young : excellent start, infact amazed he is showing the ability of 3/4 years ago which i thought may not happen.
Cleverley and Welbeck making great first team squad claims.

Average age slashed with pace and energy 'which we lack centrally' been addressed hopefully.

Pretty amazing window it has to be said.

    Excellent window for the Hammers.

Journeymen, crocks, and spongers have been replaced with some honest to goodness professionals, who have been there, and done that. In Nolan, Taylor, Bentley and Dembel some real quality has been introduced. Joey O'Brien is a man rejuvinated. McCartney is returning to the club at which he played his best football. Bouba Diop will add steel to a midfield which needs the same in such a division. Landsbury and Baldock have the opportunity to do a Reo Coker/Mullins/Harewood and become real names during a Championship stint at West Ham. Faye and Carew will provide real experience, and hopefully, they will bring that to bear on the division.

Retaining the services of Carlton Cole and Robert Green is a coup. Losing Parker is the only disappointment.

Plus, for the first time ever, it was West Ham who mugged Eidur Gudjohnson off!

Can't believe we didn't get a CB in, after a striker it was our priority. Very disappointed.

On the plus we did get a striker and a midf along with shipping out a lot of deadwood.

But there wad so much more that could have been done. A good few reckon Harry didn't any funds because he's leaving next summer and so the next manager would complain that the signings weren't his. Hopefully that is the case.

Didn't address the CM, but maybe that is because Fergie is putting his faith in Anderson and Cleverley. With Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs, Jones etc. we have decent options there. Not a huge concern for me anymore.

Overall I'm happy. Arsenal have managed to do a nice bit of late business but there team isn't as strong as last year IMO. Still, all things considered it's good business from Wenger. With a decent keeper now, two proven PL players in the middle now and a new CB and LB who knows where they will end up.

City had a great Summer. Keeping Tevez while adding Aguero and Nasri is great business. Enough said.

Chelsea have done decent business too. Picking up Mata and Meireles is two key areas for Chelsea. Also Meireles is better business than Modric. Well done AVB, so far.

Liverpool have gotten rid of all the deadwood. No more Poulsen, Cole, etc. Looks a lot different from last year. However, I think selling Merieles was a really bad piece of business. People will argue about re-sale value and such but now they have lost the only real creative midfielder. Henderson and Adam are good players but are not of the same quality as Meireles. Downing is a good addition and provides a better option on the wing but I think it's a sidestep in many ways from the end of last season without Meireles.

Man City have, obviously, done the best business of the Summer, again!

    Time will tell for arsenal.

One thing is for sure, the squad was way too thin and badly needed 4-5 signings, which it got. I just think some of them were a bit panicy and better players could have been had if the cesc and nasri deals hadn't dragged on so long. Not getting mata when he was available is going to bite arsenal in the ass I feel.

Pretty happy overall with how Liverpool have fared, though would've preferred if Aqualani had stayed, think he would've done well under Kenny.

Nice business getting £12m for Raul Meireles too.

Al Habsi was always target number one, delighted to have signed him, showed real passion for the club last season and pulled off some very vital saves for us!!Very happy with the Crusat signing, could turn into very shrewd piece of business, have seen him play a lot in La Liga, very quick player, hope he can adapt...Maloney could be hit or miss, but at 1 million is worth a gamble, if he stays injury free, hopefully he can show some potential he once had shown...Dave Jones is a great addition to the squad for free, has plenty of experience from his time with wolves, and chipped in with a few goals along his way.....Van Aanholt looks to be a bright prospect, will also give competition to Figs who hasn't been at his best lately..Won't see much of Dicko this season, as Bobby doesnt like throwin youngsters straight into first team, will play few carling cup games, but very bright prospect....

On the players out, a lot of deadwood and big wages freed up...Obviously gutted about N'Zogbia, but can't have a bad word to say about him, saved us on so many occasions, hope he does well for Villa!

others may, and probably will, disagree, but i think we've actually got a stronger first xi than we did this time last year. not necessarily to do with the transfer dealings, but more to do with the fact that it would appear that the defense has been sorted out

makoun going was a bit of a strange one, but the manager obviously didnt really fancy him and wanted to use his wages on someone he wanted to use instead. that turned out to be jenas who wasn't out first choice, apparently that was joe cole, but ill reserve judgement on him until he gets a few games to show what he can do

it still up in the air in terms of how i think we'll do, but our first xi, on form, is top 8, and our squad, thin as it is, is no worse than top 12, so if we're lucky for injuries this term and a few of our players sort themselves out i think we'll be very comfortable after a year of financial austerity, leaving us back to being able to spend money again next season now that the wage issue has been sorted out

our squad isnt as bad as people think

Cannot believe that Liverpool let Meireles go to Chelsea. It seems like a bad move for LFC to me. Dalglish does know what he is doing though so we'll just have to wait and see if this move creates a problem for Liverpool further down the line. I was just so impressed by Meireles last season. I do understand that the focal point of attacks has changed to Suarez and its why Meireles was not playing but surely they could have found him a new home outside the Premier League.

What's the point of the poll?

Soooooooooo..........Out of a few people, some people were happy, a few less weren't, but a few more than that didn't really care...
We don't know what teams they support so we don't know what supporters are happy or not but we're going to use it as some kinda general happiness indicator

I would say King was talking about a central creative midfielder. I wouldn't want Gerrard filling the deep lying creative role in a team. He gives the ball away far too much for that job. He's more use near the front, trying the wonder passes and taking shots.

Lucas, Adam and Gerrard will probably work great together, but Meireles shouldn't have been let go imo.

Very happy with Chelsea in the window TBH. A few young guys in that we really needed and we cut a few dead weights. Also there is a lot gone on loan, and most of them wont make it for us.

Well Meireles can't really play the role you're referring to either. His really good form for us came came when Gerrard was out & Raul was moved forward or out right. He's a bit yellow bellied & a bottler when played in a more traditional central midfield role.

I'd have liked to hold onto Raul as it made our midfield options brilliant. However, between the transfer request, a lack of European football & other business we've done, I'll not be hitting panic button just yet

Conor Powell hasn't quite lived up to expectation but we can put that down to a lack of match fitness , For now we're better off with Davoren in the team

Chelsea: Delighted to get Meireles and Mata, midfield badly needed it. Hopefully, this will mean seeing less of Mikel, which can only be a good thing and we won't be so badly exposed when Essien, inevitably, gets injured. Happy to get Lukaku too, though I'd have like him to be sent on loan this season so Sturridge can get his chance, he proved himself as a PL player with Bolton last year. I don't know anything about this Romeu fella and I've only heard of Davila from FM so I can't make any realistic judgement on him.

Disappointed to lose Zhirkov but he wasn't playing so what can you expect. The other departures don't worry me.

My only disappointment is not signing a proper back-keeper. Hilario is a disaster and I haven't been impressed by Turnbull. I know no quality keeper wants to be backup to Cech as he's still got about five good years but surely we could find someone better than Hilario and Turnbull?

Atleti: Falcao is a great signing and hopefully he can fill Aguero's boots somewhat. Happy to get Arda, Adrián and Diego as well. I don't know about this Courtois fella but by all accounts he had a good game on his debut.

Obviously, majorly disappointed to lose de Gea and Aguero but money and success talks and if we hadn't let them go, we wouldn't have been able to bring in Falcao. We still have the previous "next big Spanish keeper" in Asenjo so it can't all be bad, not to mention the Chelsea loanee. Forlán is a loss but not as big as de Gea and Aguero. Last season, he just wasn't good enough and it's time for him to move on. Sad to see Ujfa go but he is getting on and youth is needed for his role.

Wanderers: I just hope the rumours of this last minute deal for Mitchell to Hartlepool aren't true.

Mikel has been very good this year so far in Essiens absence and Ramires is providing the drive force that Essien would have provided.

    Arsenal: Bog dollop of meh.

We were lied to by the board about funds available; spent a huge chunk of our meagre funds on another young winger; fronted up to Barca about holding out for a good deal for our captain and then folded; spent the summer convincing Nasri to stay when it was clear to everyone he had no intention of doing so; bought a Korean who'll be in the army in 2 years; had no backup plan in the event of Nasri and Cesc leaving which meant we only had a week to spend the proceeds of their sales; panic bought on deadline day, and didnt get rid of Diaby or Almunia.

Apart form that, we did ok.

I haven't seen Chelsea so far this year so I honestly don't know if Mikel is playing better than before.

However, I've rarely been impressed with him over the past few seasons when I've seen him play. More often that not, his performances have been meh and sometimes he's been dirt. He's far too average for the Chelsea midfield. It's no wonder we miss Essien so much when he's not there.

I like Ramires and I'd rather see more of him than Mikel. I just don't think he's good enough for Chelsea.
