    Looks like a Passat-Avensis hybrid

Yeh if they find a decent diesel to fit to em. Lexus are great cruisers why have this companies ridiculous marketing team not demanded a 3.0d with 280bhp for Europe.
Perfect for m-way travel and cross continent comfort.

    Blasphemy. Petrol only, 3L minimum.

No diesel. 2.5 + 3.5 petrols from memory, a v8 and a hybrid. Presumably the lack of an oil burner is due to the market being mainly american (in fact some speculate that the european launch of the last gs was a last minute decision and was never originally planned for europe). would make sense to do it though - toyota already have a 3L diesel in the lineup and infiniti have launched a diesel competitor in europe with the new M 30 d

Lexus are a high end brand in america, but thats not saying much when you see some american saloon cars!

Diesel has become the fuel of the executive car all Euro sales figures prove this.
MB is introducing an S250cdi (an abomination to be honest). A 350 is a minimum in a luxury car.
I own a very large diesel 7 series and it is perfect for driving huge miles without stopping in silence with oodles of power.
Lexus need to get a diesel into their luxury cars to conquer the European market - their customer service is supposedly excellent I can see real growth here!
