PLC Registration Fee

    Hi, I got accepted into a Portfolio Course in Colaiste Dhulaigh, but they said I have to pay 719 euros on the 2nd September. On Monday when I had my interview I talked to the lady at the office and she said the school doesn't wait any longer than that date, and that they don't accept letters from the grant excusing me or anything.
    I went to the grant department today, explained my situation and they said there was nothing they could do about it as they were Registration fees and the grant didn't cover that for PLCs. On my letter it says that if I don't pay up i'll lose my place, and since I simply don't HAVE that amount of money, or a credit card to ask for a loan, does that mean i'm completely hopeless? I'd try and get a job, but I won't get 700+ euros in 2 days....

    Hey there :) I know I'm probably too late replying, but strangely enough I'm in exactly the same situation, with exactly the same college and exactly the same course!
    I received a call last week from a lovely lady at the college asking me about my place because I hadn't paid the fees, so I basically explained my situation and she went to talk to someone about it.
    Anyway the next day she called back and told me to put everything I explained to her into writing and send it directly to the principle.
    I sent it yesterday morning, so I'm now waiting on a reply.
    Maybe you could try that too? :)

    Oh wow! Really? That's such a coincidence, we might've been classmates :)
    Thanks so much, i'll try that... although I didn't get a call or anything so i'm not very hopeful at all... best of luck!!!

    Did you send it in a letter or email? If email is there any chance you could give me it?
