So I decided I wanted to do the Bachelor of Arts Omnibus in NUIG, but I couldn't afford to move to Galway straight away. I decided to do a PLC course for a year to save up. I got 340 points in my leaving cert, but the points for the Arts course are 350. Will I be able to apply next year, using credits or something from my PLC course or will it still depend on my leaving cert results?

You can applpy using your results from the FETAC course if the course you did is one of the courses that is linked to the Arts degree and if it includes the relevant modules. Details of what you will need is available from NUI Galway or the CAO http://www2.cao.ie/fetac/fetac_search2.php.
To get the names of the awards and the modules check out www.fetac.ie

However be warned there are limited number of places set aside for FETAC applicants and there is great interest in the route and you will need to have 8 distinctions.
