Did anyone watch this 3 part mini series. I thought it was excellent. Great acting and a captivating storyline.

Absolutely hated the ending to Part 3 though. I reckon they should have done a few more episodes!

Brilliant updating of the Holmes legend, so much better than the God awful Guy Ritchie which I hated almost beyond description.
The new series is due to air on BBC sometime late this or early next year and will be based on "A Scandal in Bohemia", "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and "The Final Problem". Source

    What? on RTE is it?
Season 2 is done and dusted on BBC so I suppose it must be.
If you haven't seen this, I',m kinda jealous and sorry for you at the same time. Enjoy it.
The rest of us are stuck with Elementary for our Holmes fix, 'tho thats more the Mentalist with rain than Sherlock Holmes.

I can't wait until Holmes and Watson finish messing around on The Hobbit and Star Trek, and get busy on Series 3.

There is nothing else this good on Television.

'Luther' with Idris Elba from The Wire is very good.

Elementary, a modern day twist on Sherlock Holmes is worth a watch

Yes, Luther is very good too although I think a lot of that is down to Idris Elba.
Ultimately, it's all subjective. I have liked everything Steven Moffat has been involved in, going way back to Press Gang, but I think Sherlock (which he created with Mark Gatiss) is his best yet.

Luther is excellent, still waiting on the new series.

Gatiss is superb, I really think this beats the movies, I'd go so far as to say this is the "thinking man's version of the movies".

    Autumn for the next series.

The Hobbit trilogy wrapped up principal photography in July and Star Trek finished in May. Season 3 of Sherlock is set to commence principal photography this March with an expected Q1 2014 release date.
