Upgrading Phone - Moving Apps to new phone

I thought I saw a thread about this here before but couldn't fnid it I'm afraid. A friend of mine upgraded to the HTC Sensation from a Desire recently, and are wondering if there is a way that you can get the apps you had installed on your old phone onto the new phone (including some paid apps) without downloading them all individually again. I thought there was some way of doing this using the google account and told her to search for nifo on it, but she came up a blank.

Is this possible, or was I imagining it? If it is possible, and kind souls care to post a how to link, or a quick run through please?

    Ta muchly.

When your friend signed into the new phone with her google account the market should have downloaded all the apps she had installed, this is what happened with me. Just have to make sure your on WIFI at the moment.

I have restored my phone a couple of times and this always worked for me.

The only other thing i can think of is maybe Titanium Backup, but that requires Root access to work.

another option is get the app-brain app from market, you can sync your app list (amongst a million cool other things)...get app-brain on new device, re-login and re-sync, it'll download everything

I did some research myself at lunch and sent her on instructions, and it's all good now. Cheers for the answers.

I told her to log into the android market website, and make sure her new phone was listed there. It wasn't, so when she added it, it allowed her to sync her apps then to the new phone from the account.

And don't forget stuff like saved games. EG if you play Angry Birds there's an angry birds save game backup app that'll backup and restore your saved position to a new phone. Without it I'm afraid it's back to the start on angry birds on the new device.

I would recommend mybackup pro. If you do not want ot purchase it then go to the xda forum where there is tutorials on backing up your apps if you are installing a custom rom.
