    Hi
Does anyone know about Fuel allownace?
Ive recently applied and I know it is €20 a week from September until April
And also I have read on the Internet that you have to be unemployed for at least 12 months to qualify. (Which I am)
But is that it? Like is there any other reqirements?
Well my question is I live in a flat and do not have an open fire so obviously I wont be buying fuel but I will have rising costs during the winter e.g electricity bills, and Ive heard off someone that you have to have an open fire to qualify also.
Can anybody tell me is this true?

    Thanks

No, You dont need a fire ! Its really a payment to help heat your house/flat during winter.

It's paid from end of September to May, for a total of 32 weeks.

Start of Sept to end of april = 8 months and for simplicity's sake they allocate 4 weeks per month = 32 weeks :)

Thanks guys but who is sure on this?
Like it is now September and I did not get Fuel allowance.
And I should be accepted for it because I am on Jobseekers Allowance for 15 months now.
Are ya sure its the start of September?
