Returning from Australia, will be claiming Jobseekers benefit

    Hi,

I'm 25 and I've been living in Australia for the last year on a working holiday visa and will be returning in a few weeks as my visa is up. I finished college in 2008 and went straight into full-time work up until I left to travel in October 2010, so I will have enough stamps for the year 2009. I've read about the habitual residence clause but it only applies if you're out of the EU for two years so hopefully that shouldn't be too much of a problem either.

I've about 1000 euro savings to cover me for the few weeks while I'm waiting (I'll be living in my parents house so won't be struggling to cover rent out of that 1000 thanks be to god).

I've never claimed before so I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on what kind of payment I'd be entitled to when I get back, and how long I should be waiting? I've heard it's about six weeks?

P.S. Don't you have to show evidence that you have been looking for work and been refused, what kind of evidence can I give for this?

    Thanks!! :)

You are entitled to jsb because you worked and paid enough contributions in tax in the last two tax years which means you will get 188 euro a week...you may be waiting a few weeks because they tend to prioritise people with families first before single people living at home...But you
    will be ok for payments
