Mushrooms, black coal like fungus usually found on fallen rotting trees, found more on Ash trees apparently, sometimes called carbon balls etc etc. These fungi are supposed to be great for taking a spark with a fire steel once dried. So if any of you ramblers could tell me where I might find plenty of Ash trees or birch…
