Student ID card-grant pending

Hi does anyone know for sure if the fees and grants office will accept payment of 93 euro and letter from Co. Council to say grant being processed? I have heard that a student might not be issued with card unless paid in full or
letter to say it will be granted for sure. In my case I'm sure it will be paid but as first time to apply have no proof and have been told that it might be next April before application is processed as so many applications have been received this year. I'm sure I can't be the only person in this situation. In Trinity they will accept that you have applied and that grant will be issued directly to them. Thanks for any help.

If you have a letter from your county council that says you will receive the grant to cover fees then they'll issue you with a student card.

No they won't...last year when I registered I wasn't given a student card because the grant hadn't be processed yet. Got in touch with the county council and they told me it would be a few weeks before it got sorted. Got in touch with the local TD and it was sorted that afternoon.

But did he fix the road?

Thanks for the replies. Problem is that my application won't be processed for months and I'm sure most people on BTEA and relying on grant wouldn't have 2k spare till after Christmas if not longer. Emailed local TD this afternoon so will see what he says. Really depends on what area you're in in terms of length of time to process grants. SDCC is a vast area with huge amounts of applications so takes forever.

I'm starting arts in NUIM next week and have the same problem with my grant. Ive contacted the university and they said theres no point in paying the 2,000 urself because it will be june 2012 by the time theres even word of you getting a refund.
My only problem with that is how restricted will college life be without a Student card?

I think the only thing is that you can't take books out of the library. Also student travel card and discounts aswell I say.

You can pay online via debit/credit card on Student Web Services on the NUIM website or pay in person at the fees and grants office.
