Im currently in 6th year thats why I'm looking for a job that lasts no longer then a few hours during the week or on the weekends. To be honest, you'll be working a hell of a lot to save up for any sort of decent car. In sixth year, you're best off holding off on the car and try to work as hard as you can in school. You'll pour all your money from limited hours into a car/insurance, and wont be able to afford to do anything with friends.

Get insured on a parents car as a stop-gap measure?

17 year old non full license will cost just under 3k, then tax bout 300e then NCT petrol and maintance, plus the cost of you're car.

Get insurred on you're parents car as a second or third driver will cost in the region of 1500e for you and your mother depending on the car.
