Car had full service, 3 new coils and TB+WP done about 4 weeks ago.
Oil level is bang on and nothing else looks amiss.

    Anyone else had this.

    Thanks

It's a laguna. I remember them have so many stupid faults, if you're oil level's fine and it's still on bring it to get checked

NEVER drive a car with the oil pressure light on. It may be a sensor, but don't drive it until you've found out.

As above, never drive with the light on, it may be a faulty sensor, it may also be a failed oil pump. If its the latter then ANY driving will cause major damage to the engine.

    Thanks guys, 2 quick questions

How do I tell if it is the oil pump?
How much am I looking at for an oil pump and labour?

You need to have your mechanic do an oil pressure test, if its fine then its just a faulty sensor, if the oil pressure is low or non existent then you have more serious problem.

Labour is high enough to do the job properly as the oil system has to be fully flushed and cleaned to remove any swarf from the failed pump. Just fitting a new pump straight on will result in premature failure of the new pump/engine.
