It's been down around 30% a couple of times before. F5, F7 and P6 share the distinction of having the lowest pass rates ever, both have had diets with a 28% pass rate.

Surely the constant low pass rates suggests that the exam structure that the ACCA is using is completely wrong. There is only a gap of 3 1/2 months between getting your results and the next set of exams. For a professional qualification, the depth of knowledge required, that just isn't enough time especially since most students are working full time also.

ACCA really need to do something about that. Either get results out sooner (a lot sooner) or change the set-up completely.

I wonder how feasible it would be to do a one sitting a year with repeats sittings for failed exams a month after results are out would be? I don't even know if there is an appepite for change in the student body. Maybe I'm on my own in feeling this way. No real student body to communicate with in ACCA, another serious let down of the body.

Went on a bit of a rant there, sorry bout that! ;)

While I'd like results sooner. I do like the structure, there's 16 weeks between results and the start of the exams which is plenty of time to cover the subject. Having two sessions a year gives great flexibility and the 10 year window really means you can get through the qualification as quickly or as slowly as you need to. I did the Mature route and started studying in May of 2010 taking my first exams the following month. I expect to finish in December and I can use my previous experience for the professional experience requirement, no other accountancy body gave me the same flexibility.
