    Hi Guys,

just wondering how i claim emergency tax back. I did some sub work in the school where i did my dip in 2010/2011. I imagine I need the Department's registered number, do I just call them and request the number?

    Thanks!

Yes you can ring the dept and ask for the employer number for the post-primary section. I remember asking for it before. But I don't know if you'll need it to claim back excess tax. After all, the tax office know who was paying you and how much tax was deducted. I have claimed back tax in the past and always just sent a letter stating the year I paid the tax and asking for a "balancing statement" for that year.

Not sure about the number but it's a p21 balancing statement you are looking for. Possible you wont get it til jan tho if it's for this year coz they're issued yearly
