Americans dream of being famous,
as an Irish person I always just wanted a few quid and to be left alone.

Just wondering what people's opinions are on it,
always saw fame as more hassle than its worth, never get a moments peace.

Wouldn't really look for it myself but if I had the chance to be part of something big and still remain relatively anonymous then that would be cool.

Like one of the members of a famous band that has an easily recognisable frontman but no one recognises the other lads despite them being very much integral to the group. Would be perfect.

That whole lifestyle is just so empty.
If you have a genuine talent and fame is part and parcel with following your passion, then I guess you just have to find some way to deal with it.
But for your dream to be fame for fames sake - well I pity those people tbh.

Be a rock star and you wont have to worry about those ****ty rags/papers sticking their snotty noses in your business everyday just because you get a haircut etc. They only seem interested in the pop stars, movie stars and washed up celebrities selling their stories.

Of course, you will have to put up with some public scrutiny which just goes with being famous regardless of how you do it.

I hate having attention focused on me in any situation, so I think fame would make me go mad. So, no, I don't want to be famous. I'd rather keep my mind.

Respected or known for something worthwhile sure, famous for being famous, fcuk no. we have enough people like Amanda Brunker or other Z list "celebrities" that can barely be classed as that.

Fame these days can be achieved by doing something stupid on youtube or making a tit of yourself on a reality talent show, years ago it was an accomplishment.
