So heading on my first "girls night out" in 6mths at the weekend & don't have a clue what to wear - actually I probably don't have a thing in my wardrobe that is "on trend"

Would love to wear a dress - ( with tights if possible as wont have time to get a spray tan done this wk ) ... what is on trend this season & what shops would you recommend?? What sort of shoes??

    I am 5ft 3 , size 10 ( with hips ) & am 30!
Plus something that isn't too close fitting around the tummy area!

    Really need some help here:)

You can't really go wrong with the high st stores like new look, I got a lovely dress there last week, it can be dressed up or down and had a lovely fit.
Can't find it online, but you'll def find a nice dress in there.
You could team the black tights with a pair of shoe boots.

id go for a tunic style dress as they are pretty flowly so will cover a tum. something like this maybe something in this style http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/embellished-cuff-tunic_230278401 or alot of dress are nipped in just under the bust and flare out like this http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/belted-one-shoulder-chiffon-dress_226480987. i dont really like either of then dresses, the styles are ok.

everything is moving into autumn styles and colours now so mustard, burnt orange, stone, reds are what you will see in shops.

I think for what your looking for new look or awear might be your best bet. they do have some great dresses but you wont know till you go looking. happy shopping :)

Thanks you for the replys!! Off to Dundrum tomoro so we will see what I end up with..

At the moment, this is the nicest outfit I have found & along the lines of what I would wear..
BUT am worried the dress may be a bit shapeless!

That dress is lovely, maybe you could give it bit of shape with a belt or a silky scarf tied around the waist? It'd still flow out enough from the waist to hide a tummy since you mentioned that as a possible issue...

I think what you posted is very nice. Don't go buying something new just cos you're worried about being on trend or whatever, well I mean if you want to buy something new anyway by all means go ahead!:)

I actually really like the dress you've posted, OP. If you're worried about it being shapeless, belt it. I think with the amount of leg that'd be on show, it'd keep things balanced though. Word of warning about the shoes - ankle straps have a tendency to cut off legs and make 'em look shorter so be careful!
