I always enjoy coming on to the accountancy thread and reading about people who think they deserve better marks than what they actually got or people who are let down by their professional body and feel by jumping ship and changing to ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA will help their cause. The reality is you obviously havent worked hard enough and you dont deserve to pass your exams or you have just missed something which was fundamental in that subject. Just stop being such girls blouses about the whole thing. Suck it up and work harder for the repeats and dont skip any lectures. We have all been down the same path, i have failed one exam along the way and im now on my final exam. I realised that i didnt work hard enough for the subject and just rolled up my sleeves and knuckled down and passed it easily in the repeat exam. Just remember, nobody really cares what you do so just grow up and keep the head down.

I wish you all the best in your future exams.

    Good luck

Acknowledging dissatisfaction can be a good thing. It's one of those useful evolutionary tools that enables us to fix things at an early stage before they reach potentially destabilising levels.

Complianing about things also offers us a chance to bond with others facing the same issues. Focusing on common problems leads to greater acceptance and cooperation among groups of people.

The point is that I think exams are tough enough for most people. If it doesn't go to plan, acknowledging it allows people to identify the issue and do better the next time as opposed to bottling it up and saying - 'must work harder'. Perhaps its working smarter and more efficiently is the key. Talking to people and posting experiences on forums like this can help people improve the next time and help others to not repeat the same mistakes other people make.

Having a moan about students moaning. The irony is probably lost on you.

that post irritates me, people are allowed to look for advice and support from people who have already failed exams/ passed exams.

Constructive criticism is helpful, but I struggle to see what is constructive about that post

Oh please...posting experiences and acknowledging issues = a good old moan because things havent worked out as you wished they would have

And by working harder i mean going to every lecture, studying every week, practising exam q's all the time, using resource sites such as opentuition.com. This allows you to 'work smater and more efficiently' and guarantees you a pass.

I just find it annoying about people who want to jump ship or those who cant believe they failed. There is a reason why and its themselves that have to look at and not the exams. You have to work hard for everything in life and what you put in, you get out. Simples!

Oh come on, i think you are being a tad bit sensitive here. I am all for support and advice but the majority of posts are people having a good moan about exams, examiners, professional bodies etc. All you have to do is read each of threads and you will understand and besides are you really going to look for constructive advice for professional exams on boards.ie!! If you 'worked hard' you wouldnt be on here looking for a shoulder of support!

I can't belive your post was actually approved. If you look all over Boards, there are many threads where people just wish to get something off their chest. And as someone mentioned earlier in a post, the irony is classic.

some people need a dig out to get them going in the right direction, I got 70% in my last FR exam, if I hadnt been on here 'moaning' about finding FR tough and not sure how to approach it, reckon I would have got 30.
It was nothing to do with working hard, I was working very hard, but getting nowhere.

I dont feel youre having a go at me, but I have no problem helping people out who didnt get their study technique perfected before the first sitting!

I worked hard and got some excellent advice about study strategy and techniques after having a good moan prior to that!
