Cheap Lads/Sight-Seeing Holiday

Me and a few of the lads (group of 4-8), all aged between 18-21 want to head away for a weekend.

I have been looking for cheap flights and they're looking like €30-€35 for a weekend in October.

The choices at this price are :
    Oslo
    Milan
    Barcelona
    Nantes
    Eindhoven €20 dearer flights

Basically what we want is a good nightlife and plenty to do during the day whether it be sight seeing, tours (few of us would be interested in history), sports. I have been told that Oslo is incredibly dear, ie €8 for a pint so I think that one is going to ruled out.

We'd be going for between 3 and 5 nights depending on destination (Barcelona is 5 nights due to flights).

Also if there is a nice city nearby where we could get a train to or something that is also an option.

Can anyone give us help on choosing and how much accomodation and spending money we'll need.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: Or would anyone know if it would be cheaper to get flights that are dearer to a dirt cheap destination, most flights are no dearer than €120 around the time we're going?

I would highly recomment Stockholm to visit. Went there with 3 lads for 3 days found it brilliant. Good history, nice sites and plenty of nightlife. We didn't find it as expensive as people were saying it would be. A pint is about the same as what you'd pay in Temple bar in Dublin.

The hostel we stayed on was on the middle Island -Sodermalm which is in the from the old town Island -Galma Slam. Metro stop was 5-10min walk away and in town in 10 mins.

Hostel is around 25€ per person for a 4 bed room the hostel is STF Vandrarhem Zinkensdamm

Ryanair flight for oct around the 6th-10th Oct is €144 for 4 people so €36 per person. When you get to the airport there is a but to bring u into Stockholm, not sure how much that cost but it wasn't much.

Let me know if you want more info on it. But I would say that Stockholm has being my favorite european city to visit so far and that is over Madrid and Paris. Ah yeh check out Madrid either, that is also a great place to visit.

TBH I'd find paying anything more than 4e a pint expensive so 6e is fairly steep. Bear in mind that we'd all be college students so budget wouldn't be huge now.

Checked flights to madrid, coming out about 110e or so, how expensive is Madrid, drinks, dinner etc?

Madrid isn't bad but Barcelona is better, try there.
Also try Lisbon, lovely city lots to see and around Biarro alto in the city, there are pub crawls with more cheap booze than you could shake a stick at!

    Vienna would be another option.
Nightlife is kickin, its not too dear (especially if you have a few at the hostel bar beforehand) and lots of sights and palaces and whatnot.
Theres even a normal tram that does laps of the city centre that is as good as a tourbus but at a miniscule fraction of the price.

flights to there or bratislava a half hour away are normally not too dear.

Munich is also great especially for day trips to other cities/ the alps etc.

How much are we talking for, say, a meal in Barcelona, is it really that expensive?

    Appreciate the replies lads.

    It depends.
You could feed yourself well for as little as a tenner a day or spend a 100.
I'd put aside €20 a day for food to be honest in any of those cities as ye are lads,ye will drink like fishes so you need a good base down there!!

3 courses in juicy jones will set you back less than a tenner in the evening :)

Your best bet there would be to do a search on the trip advisor forums for whatever place you do decide.
You will be looking at hostels I presume.

Some are better than others but in any of them, mind your valuables!
Remember you are looking for a place to kip for the night ,not a luxury palace so I guess anything will do.

If you go to the hotel reviews section, just set your price to under 75 euro a night and you'll find most of them are hostels.
Don't go too much on the reviews [unless they say it's owned by a mass murderer or something :D] just get a general feel of the place and expect the worst and you won't be too disappointed.

As I say ye lads just want somewhere to kip.
If ye are lucky,ye will meet some cracked wans that might offer ye a better warmer bed for the night :D

    Stay safe :)

    Thats the plan ha:D

Don't really mind about the hostel cheap and location are the main things, I'd sleep on bed of nails when I'm drunk:p

Thanks for all the help really appreciate, shall get booking in the next few weeks.
