Am thinking bout applying for this evening course - cost is 600euro plus exam of 120euro... i'm very interested in video editing and hope to persue a career in it eventually... i understand that this course is just an introduction and that i would have to follow on with more courses subsequently.

Would anyone be able to recommend this course? Is it any good? i know there are some self study course books out there and a posibility of taking the exam separately but its probably always best to have a class room environment?

any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds very expensive TBH. Throw a few dollars to Izzy Video and you'll probably learn as much (if not more).
