anyone any advice on renting an aptartment in millbrook, know its mostly students which is what we want. Viewed several by a letting agent for €900 a month but they also looking for €400 each of a deposit €1600 (is this a bit excessive). there only 3 of us at moment, all 1st yrs (2 girls & 1 boy) do you think we would have any bother finding a 4th!!!

I lived in no. 6 Millbrook last year, was a really nice apartment. I don't think you'll have any trouble finding your 4th housemate. Ask around on facebook (itcarlow page) etc
As for the deposit, I'm going to guess you'll be renting under Ray Maher. It's definitely a bit much, I paid €300 last year, but as long as you don't set fire to the apartment you should have no trouble getting it back at the end of the year.

I wasn't with the same letting agent as you will be, know a few guys that were though. They said they never had any trouble with them.
My landlord already had UPC installed in the apartment, which he included in the rent. Could easily get it on your own. Call up UPC and ask about student deals.
