I recently bought a 19" Hd tv for my ps3. I used a hdmi cable to connect the ps3 to the hd tv thing is I used a cheap HDMI cable and when I removed it from the tv bits of the hdmi cable off. I tried to put the other end of the hdmi cable into the tv but it won't fit in what should I do :o

Get a new cable. Trying to forcefully fit the cable into tv can damage the HDMI socket of the tv and that will prove more expensive to you.

You can get a cheap HDMI cable in Euro €2 shops.

think I bent one of the clips on the hdmi socket on the tv :( How can I fix that? :o

Now that's a bit tricky. If you have another tv then, get a torch or flashlight, see how the HDMI port looks like on the other tv, disconnect the other tv from electric socket with a small screwdriver try to put the clip on place. Do not push on anything firmly else you may damage it completely.

If you cant do it then I am afraid you will have to get some professional help.

How much would professional help cost?

HDMI is usually a very tight fit so I frankly doubt that you bent anything, more likely as you suggested in your first post that a bit of the cheap cable got left behind. Shine a torch into the socket and see if there's any debris, you could use a tweezers (preferably made of plastic) to remove any stray bits.

maybe there is a bit of debris inside the hdmi port on the tv as the cable actually sort of snapped when it was inside the tv. I had to pull out the cable but by doing that one of the wee clips sligtly bended

Can't really see it on the pictures - whats the make and model of the TV. Just one thought, any chance it's a USB port?

There may be other ports on the side that you can use???

This thread is probably better in another tech forum so beware it may be moved on you.
