'Always hiring' suggests that they have a high turnover of staff for whatever reason.

Although it has nothing to do with the plant, it was a just saying sort of bit of information.

    Hi,

I worked for them until recently for the past 4 years. They are extremely good to work for and promote intermal promotion. I left for a new challenge elsewhere. I would reccomend to anyone. The reason they are always hiring is that they are expanding rapidly. They are part of Mylan 3rd biggest generic pharma compaqny in the world. Very small turnover of staff. Can I ask what position you are applying for?

    Hi,

The role is sales order management with initial focus on some sap work ...
What area did you work when you were there?

I worked in the packaging dept as supervisor. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would definitely return in the future.

    Hi
I have been called for interview, it would seem that they are always hiring but you say this is because of expansion, just don't want to end up somewhere where I end up regretting, am a hard and concentious worker, what type of support do you get from your manager, what would you say the management style is there...

    Thanks for help
    Susie :)

    Hi Susie,

I always had a very good relatioship with my manager. I still keep in touch since I have left. The company encourages good communication between managers and their reports.
There is a good reward and recognition program, if you work hard and perform well, you are rewarded for that.
Good bonus every year and pay rise every year. Not many places can say that in this climate.

I work with them in the capacity of an IT partner (SAP support / project work). The people I have dealt with haven't changed in the past 4 years - a few senior mgmt have moved up the ladder into more senior roles with Mylan. Good luck with your interview.

My dad works there. He's been there over 10 years and constantly getting bonuses plus extra pay for countless hours of overtime and he loves it. They have a great reward scheme and even have a no sick day reward every 6 months. I've applied a couple of times for positions there but have never even got past the application stage, so if you get an offer grab it with both hands.

    Good luck

I see that Gerard Laboratories have an advertisement for a shift operator on Indeed.ie. Anyone know if they are looking for a number of operators or just one? I'm going to apply anyway but it would be good to know if there are multiple positions available. Thanks.

They generally advertise on Irish Jobs. They tend to have alot of jobs going both because people leaveand they are expanding.

For those who are asking what they are like to work for. Like any company with 500+ employees it can very much depend on which department you are in. Like all companies some supervisors are greatand others not so much.
With regards turnover anyone who is a supervisor/team leader upwards tends to be there a very long time. I worked as an analyst and there was always people leaving after they got 1-2 years work experience(I left last year).

If you stay long enough you will more then likely get a chance to work your way up and you are worked hard. Like nearly all the other pharma companys they have a bonus scheme.

Has anyone ever worked or known anyone who worked in the Mylan UK office in Potters Bar Hertfordshire?

I visited it during an inspection by my current company. The office looks very modern and its right slap bang on top of Potters Bar station on the main line from London to Cambridge. You would never need a car to work there!

Sending a CV and cover letter to the HR department of Gerard lab did not work then?

Sorry if I want to apply for lab position how do I go about doing that ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 115 ✭✭Lisa78

Adedele, if you keep an eye on the Mylan profile on irishjobs.ie, you can apply for any positions through that website.
Mylan is the parent company of Gerard Laboratories, and there are 2 companies in the industrial estate - the OSD (oral solid dose - tablets/ capsules) manufacturing facility which has been there 25+ years, and the new respiratory plant (which will manufacture inhalers) which is currently recruiting. There are also offices a few minutes away at Northern Cross, but there are no manufacturing facilities or labs there.

RachelS32, you've probably had your interview by now, hope it went well. As far as I know, the interviews can be very different depending on what department you're going for, but normal HR questions would be expected, I'd say. Most departments are very into OE (operational excellance)/ six sigma as well.

Hey I am a 4th year student. I would love to apply a job for Gerard Laboratories for the summer temporary only for work experience. I really enjoy chemistry. Can anyone please tell to apply to them as in, their email address or phone number to contact them. I live in Blanchardstown. Any advices would be very helpful

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 115 ✭✭Lisa78

Varaksa, if you have a look on irishjobs.ie, the addresses and phone numbers are there for the OSD and the respiratory plant - they both have labs. I'm not sure if they take students on anymore for work experience, but there's no harm in asking.
As far as I know, there isn't a general email address, but you could ring and ask reception.
