I'm a bit late with this as this offer also applied to today. It's heritage week, and with that comes free entry to OPW sites on 2 Sundays. One was today, 28 Aug but next Sunday is free also. And if you miss out on that, don't forget that the first Wednesday of the month is also free, and since the following Wednesday is the first of the month, it's free too.

Anyone have any recommendations for any of these sites? Where's good to visit or are there any lists online?? Cheers

Have a look at the OPW site and the Heritage Ireland site. There's a link to a word document on the Heritage Ireland site listing the free sites available to visit.

In Meath the Bru na Boinne visitor centre, Hill of Tara, Trim Castle and Battle of the Boyne (Oldbridge Estate) are listed as having free entry during heritage week.

Edit: The above and the word document linked possibly only link the sites which are free this coming Wednesday.

I dont think today is free entry to the OPW sites.
Heritage week ran from 20-28 August.

I couldnt find anything to say that the sites were free admission today.

Not sure about their website, but the wife works for the OPW and she was telling me about the 2 Sundays, today being one of them

I also thought it was only the first Wednesday of every month, but great to know, I can recommend Newgrange
