So basically I'm the proud owner of a shiny new macbook, what's the easiest way of transferring all my songs from my old windows 7 laptop to my macbook?

Stick them all on a hard drive or something and open iTunes and just drop the file in. It's that easy.

    Get yourself Transmission;)

It's better than that. Copy your itunes folder from your PC (it's in your Music folder) into the music folder on the mac and it should bring across playlists and music. (provided Itunes was setup to copy the music to its own folder.

On the Mac, when you double click on the song, and go look for it, it asks if you wish to find others. It may take a good few goes, but AFAIK, its the only way to do it.

Pardon the mini hijack but it's kind of related:

Is it still the case that an iPhone/pod can only be synched to one iTunes account?

First off, I have an iMac and a MBP and I'd like to have the itunes libraries on both synched. For example when both are in Airdrop (is that what it's called?) range on the network at home, that I could sync them so that music bought, downloaded or made on one would be added to the other. If not that simple, if I had a time capsule set up, could it be used as a repository for itunes on both computers? Or would it just be for backing up to, not from?

Secondly, I have an ipod classic, an ipod shuffle and an iphone. Can it be set up so I can sync to either computer. At the moment, if I sync on one computer, the next time I plug into the other it wants to delete everything off the device first.

Apologies if the questions are ridiculous but I've been resisting itunes for too long and nowadays it might be the best solution for managing a few hundred gigs of music across five different Apple devices.

Both Macs are up to date with snow leopard and latest itunes updates installed, if that matters.
