You would need to do some research about the area itself, your question might be better posted in the regional boards where you can aim it directly at sligo people

Hi OP,
I would say there would be lots of interest. I live in Sligo, and always think it would be nice to have an alternative to Toffs or Velvet, and as a 60s/70s music fan I think it would be great to have nights like you've mentioned.
Maybe organising something through facebook might be the way to go.
Do you have a venue in mind?
