Persistent Tactical fouling

One of the biggest challenges to gaelic football IMO is the use of tactical fouling by teams in the forward line in particular. It was again evident today by both teams and is being coached to underage teams now(witness Tipperary minors last week). A foul by a corner forward by example stops the game and allows a team to reset their defence etc.

It came up as a discussion on the BBC panel after the game today. An idea floated by Jarlath Burns was that after say 3 fouls inside your forward 45m line would result in a 45 meter free. Another i heard previously was after say 8 team personal fouls any subsequent fouls would result in a 45.

What do ye reckon; is there any validity in these measures or do spectators see this as an issue?

Fouling in general is destroying the game. Something really radical is needed.

    The suggestions above have merit.

The manner in which referees lately seem to have gone on solo runs when it comes to applying the rules of the game, just beggars belief.

I watched both refs today to see their reaction to blatant fouls. Most of the time, they took no action - no ticks, no cards. (The centre back from Galway seemed to have a free licence to maul anyone that he could get his hands on)

The lack of consistency is turning Gaelic Football into an absolute joke of a sport.

thats one option.sin bin for persistent team fouling.also have the same time keeping as rugby where the clock stops every for all the stoppages.we ve all seen games where the ref announces 3 mins extra time where theres been 15 minutes of stoppages and the spends the 3 mins giving out yellow cards then blows up.insane
