Putting this up for someone else.

2005 Megane not starting up when engaging clutch however it works perfect when using the foot brake. All the electrics still come on but the engine will not turn over.

    Any ideas ?

Its a common failure. The switch for the clutch pedal fails. Most people don't bother repairing it as it can also be started by pressing the brake pedal.

    Thanks Nissan Doc

That's what I said to her as well but she would feel happier with it working. Anyway I'll let her know and she can take things her self from there.

EDIT: any idea on the price to fix this problem roughly ?

this happened on my sisters a while back, the cable had come off the switch, just reconnected it and worked perfectly, took two mins, worth a check first just look over the clutch pedal and see if there is a wire coming from it, if not have a look around for it
