A friend of mine is been refused permission to remove €8,000 of his personal property from his previous employers premises. He used this property to conduct the activities he was employed to deliver.

The employer tried to alter his work conditions which would have made it difficult for him to survive and resigned. He has now set up his own business and the failure of his previous employer to release this equipment is impacting on his ability to trade.

As he is been deprived of access to his property and the other party has no title to the goods, can he involve the Gardai and report it as theft as he has reason to believe that the previous employer is using this equipment to deliver training.

Thanks in advance for any constructive advice received.
