Hi all, I've come across two more f**king mistakes in myself build, I know there's no one else to blame but myself. Here's the mistakes the plumber fitted two shower trays, once fitted I realized that there isn't enough room for the architrave on the doors, now this has happened in two room. Room 1 the door is only leading into a hot press, room 2 is a common bathroom between two bedrooms. When I say no Room I mean I have about 10mm for the architrave, does anyone out there have any idea what I can do. I'll try and post photos once I figure out how to do so from this I phone.
Please help cause wife hasn't seen it yet and would like to have descent reply when she does.

Can you use beading on the tile.

Socondly sometimes depeding on the style of shower tray the door sits a little back meaning you may fit a small acchitraive...

If you don't mind a narrower door you could fix a 5x2 to the side of the frame that would leave enough room for architrave and extra timber wouldn't be visible once architrave is finished both sides.

+1 That's what I would do and as it is a bathroom you will not be moving large furniture through the door way in the future so it should never matter.

Yes I did think of that so I rang door supplier who said he'll be on site next Monday, I asked about changing two door sizes up stairs, he said he had those door made, I could change but I would have to pay for all 4, I said leave it off and I'll do something else.

What widths are the trays? can you get them exchanged for narrower ones?

I assume you are going to have the shower walls tiled so if the tile finishes flush with the inside face of the doorframe you could cover the joint with a small chrome t-piece (a tile trim will work perfectly). You would have to run this all the way around the door for it to look like a deliberate design feature rather than a solution to a problem you encountered along the way.
