Just wondering if there is anyway to get personal data off a kaput iphone. ? Basically I brought the phone in to a shop to get unlocked / jailbroken. On the way home the phone battery had died, and now wont boot up. Obviously I brought it back but they are saying they cannot do anything with it as they have tried everything. .

Have tried search on google but cant seem to find anything..

Any ideas or help would be much appreciated..

Have you tried holding the home & power button down together for just over 10 seconds?

Have you plugged it in to a power socket rather than a computer, to charge it?

I'd say I could get it working again for you.
sounds like they updated the baseband incorrectly, and your stuck in DFU mode, I've seen hthis alot recently. I'd say a tethered boot using redsn0w and the correct firmware(more than likely 4.2.1 or 4.3.3) should get it back on enough to get the information from the device.

If you attempted a restore in iTunes you've lost the information, unless of course there is an iTunes backup. You won't be able to restore in iTunes if your on iPad baseband which I'd say you are
