Nasal Congestion? Problems breathing?

I wonder if anyone here else suffers from this regularly? I have been suffering with bad Nasal Congestion since around 2000 when I was around 12, I have some allergies but it really irritates me, I have been on multiple types of nasal sprays and only otrivine works, this however only give relief for about 5 to 6 hours and then the nose blocks again, I can only take otrivine every so often as it can lead to excessive nasal congestion, but the relief of otrivine and to be able to breath through my nose, smell and taste again is divine!

My turbinates are nearly permanently swollen and today again I couldn't smell at all, my food tastes see me eat only very strong and bitter foods as it is only strong flavours I can experience with my nose and sense of smell practically extinct. I have trouble sleeping as I am always breathing through my mouth due my nose being blocked, this often causes me to have bad quality sleep leading to irritability etc.

In 2009 I sought medical help after many years of suffering and was seen by the ENT and I subsequently had a septoplasty, which didn't really help the situation as the bone is not the blockage but the swollen turbinates. I am now thinking of getting turbinate coblation surgery in the United States which will permanently reduce the turbinate from blocking the nasal cavity and let me breath easy again. I have not taken Otrivine since Wednesday and am looking forward to spraying it up my nose tomorrow to give me some relief so I can watch the GAA match is comfort.

Anyone here suffer with this? And if so how do you manage your life with it or have you had any surgeries etc. in hope of getting relief.
