    Hi all,

I bought an iphone 4 less than 2 weeks ago and the screen in already cracked,

I have no insurance policy and am aware the price to fix is around 100 €,

Just wondering if anyone knows that because its so soon after buying, would I be covered or anything?

    I am with Meteor!

Any advice would be much appreciated, as may save me some money!

    Thanks,

Unfortunately, no. You are not entitled to anything. A cracked screen is physcial damage, not covered by warranty...

    Sorry dude!

Get a screen protector and live with the crack for a couple of months until the repair cost won't hurt.

There have been cases where iphone owners have had their new cracked iphones repaired under guarantee. Have a quick google.

If the screen isnt being distorted and its just a crack you can fix it for under €20 yourself. Not a hard job really and their are plenty of guides. I did mine and it was perfect(until I dropped it again).

I stand corrected. Didnt know the iphones LCD was bonded to the digitizer.

If only it was just a crack, its in bits! usable alright - but bits of glass keep falling out

Dont think that kinda damage can be fixed for twenty, and if I cant be trusted with an iphone for two weeks - doubt ill be able to fix it myself!!

Sigh.... may just live with it till I can afford it.....

Nice to know I'm not the only one!!!
