I'm trying to download apps off the android market. Skype, google earth, and google plus are unavailable. Anyone know what the story is? I fing it hard to believe certain google apps are available on iphone, but not android. This is a bit sh!t tbh.

Had I known this prior to buying an android, it might have been a deal-breaker.

what type of android do you have?

Can you not see the apps or what is the issue?

I have no idea what you're doing wrong. I have Skype and Google Earth installed on my Desire and I see that Google+ is also available.

    I have a Wildfire S.

That's weird. They're not showing up on the market at all. I assumed it was some kind of regional thing, but obviously not. When I link from google, I get an error saying it's unavailable.

I'll try those links, otherwise it could be my market settings. I'm at a loss.

From some googling, the screen resolution of the Wildfire S doesn't support skype, so its not showing in the market (the market is filtered by handset, so if an app isn't supported on your phone, then you won't see the app listed).

Edit: At the end of that thread, they say its now available..... try the link and see if it works for you.

    Thanks guys,

I had a dig around google -- looks like my content filtering was only showing the lowest level (Everyone) apps. Took a few attempts at changing this, and nothing -- reboot, then tried again, and it seems to have worked. A little bug methinks, but seems ok now.

    Cheers lads.

Edit: Google earth is incompatible :(

You can also install remotely from your desktop browser through those links.

Davyjose, download the google earth apk from 4shared or somewhere like that and install it anyways. Sometimes the apps will work anyways even if it says it won't
