10w40 semi synthetic is Toyotas recommendation for a stock levin. You can use fully synthetic but if you use it then try to keep using it & not go back & forth between semi & fully.

How do you use the car? Ie: hard driving or just normal with the odd blast?

Basically fully synth doesn't brake down as quick when it gets hot. People will tell you if you use fully you won't need to service as often  . I use fully in the evo & still service it every 4500 as mitsubishi recommends.

I drive a 97 BZR Levin daily & use 10w40 Liqui Moly. Remember oil more advanced than it was in 97 so if Toyota sais it was ok then it will be fine now unless it's getting alot off abuse.

Edit: Fully does give better protection but still gets contanimated that's why you should stick to proper service intervals.

No probs, take a look at this site. I buy my oil here & they are good with prices & always have special offers on. Plus if you register with them you get 10% off. I always buy a few bottles to save on shipping but see what you think.
