    Ahoy all.

Ive been brewing ales for quite a long time but ive decided to take a crack at wine. I'm going to try the "Australian Blend 7 Day New World Style merlot". I understand that this kit is fairly cheap and im not going to get great wine, but i just fancy experimenting.

But im wondering what should i do, im familiar with brewing beer but how does wine differ? what are some general guidelines and basics i NEED to take into account?

Also my main query is what temprature does a merlot need to be fermented at?

Cheers very much for any replies :)
    -Niall
