I'd be grateful if anyone could clarify exactly what's now on offer.

The leaflet in DID refers to a €60pm bundle called Fibre Starter but it's not the same as the Fibre Starter as defined on the UPC site. The DID one only says 5MB broadband) as compared to 20MB on the UPC site, but it refers to Digital Value with Digital + HD whereas on the UPC site you have to pay extra for Digital + HD.

Just simply don't trust UPC to get your bills right, ever, if you go for a customer loyalty agreement or add a new service and expect the bill to be correct, they are not,and UPC keep proving to not be people of their word,a bill mistake goes into their coffers if you do not spot it yourself.
most customers are no longer getting a paper bill or have not signed up to view their bill online .UPC like to take payment by DD so if they overcharge you by hundreds of euro's the money is already transferred.
i have bills to prove this.
To UPC Jason i do not envy you the job of defending that company.
UPC depend on people getting so fed up with billing disputes for money that is not owed to them just giving up and paying it. it must pay for all those RF leads that have never been cut for basic analouge ten times over.

A fine job you have done there generalising a problem that exists with yourself. Any chance you would personalise it? I am with UPC and have changed plans & got affinity offers, and all changes have been accurately reflected in my bills.:)

    Hi Tom2

No worries, please take this as official confirmation:

The slowest speed UPC sell in a bundle is 25mb.

The Fibre Starter bundle costs €60, it has Digital Value + TV, 25mb Broadband and home phone with freetime world call pack.

HD is an extra €5 if you want it.

If you order the fibre starter bundle in DID you will get a free netbook (€250 voucher) www.upc.ie/retailoffer

    Hope that helps

    Regards

    Jason

Sorry you felt the need to use the rolls eyes smiley.
We personally have gone for two promotions in the last two years.
the first time the dispute dragged on for six months and our service was cut off twice before UPC admitted an overcharge of almost two hundred euro's and eventually gave as a credit.
i lost count of the amount of phone calls then emails it took to resolve their mistake.
This time round Customer loyalty gave us an offer that looked great and solemnly promised the bill would not increase.
not only has it increased it was changed to a monthly bill without any warning and it was increased.
even though the billing period only covered one month the amount to be paid amounted to what a bi monthly bill should be.
if i had a DD set up UPC would already have that money, instead due to lots more phone calls and emails.a credit of half the amount has been given.
We are tied into a new 12 month contract and were misled about the terms.

My sister who is a Sky customer agreed to allow an ugly booster box attached to her house and was told she would not have to pay for certain services she received.
once the box was in place bills began to arriave and UPC insisted they be paid.
this ended in the box being removed but not before they were tormented by UPC for Money they did not owe.
someone else i know who pays six months in advance has a late payment fine on a bill for over two years.this too was a UPC mistake.
UPC lied to everybody when the ITV channels were lost that replacements would happen quickly.
don't take my word for it check out the many complaints about UPC on the Cable and Digital forum under the Tech forums

    Jason,

Ordered UPC last thursday for mother for an early november install (when sky runs out).

She is only getting TV Max and Phone (anytime) €53 a month, can she avail of these offers or does it have to come from a bundle, provided they will allow her to cancel.

    Cheers,

    Hi ciaran75

The retail offer is provided by our partners and broadband in a bundle is a requirement to qualify, see all details here www.upc.ie/retailoffer

You either need to order a broadband/phone bundle, or a triple play bundle of TV/Broadband/Phone

As that doesn't suit, I would suggest cancelling the original order (as you havent been installed, this is possible), and reorder via boards www.upc.ie/boardsoffer and there is an offer there as an alternative. (Free activation and a €50 voucher for DID Electrical of Carphone Warehouse)

    Thanks, hope that helps.

    Regards
