    What help do you need?

Do you have some questions that we could answer here

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

My dad was having a conversation with the mother of my brother's friend.

From what I gather, she was telling him that as she had two children in college at the same time, she managed to get €500 off the younger child's college fees.

Is this true? My brother is going into first year this term and any bit of cash we could save for him would be great!

Yes - you get a refund through a tax rebate - it means you save €400 for the 2nd person in the family. Read these links - make sure your dad gets receipts for any fees he pays and claims a tax rebate

    Refresh my memory someone.
i thought the students succeeded in keeping the reg fee at 1500. but far as i know it's gone up to 2000.

or was it that the govt were bluffing they'd increase it to 3000 and the stus thought 2000 was a victory? cant remember

Thanks for that. Does that mean my parents would have to pay both fees in order to receive the rebate?

Essentially yes - It gets refunded then through PAYE ie through the employment wage packet BUT tax relief can be claimed by anyone - so your cousin could pay your fees and claim the relief or someone who is absolutely no relation to you at all could pay the fees and claim the relief

But they'd have to be paying both? Both fees at one, that is.
