Giving the notice for my house....

    Hello there,

I have a little issue I'm trying to figure out...

I'm providing the notice for my house since I'm relocating to another country, but I have a few doubts.

Let me point out a few things on my situation:

-I'm sharing the house with another two guys, the lease has all three of the names on it. the agency wants a notice signed by all three of the guys and the date the house will be free, if the other parts where not to sign/leave the house how should I proceed, any ideas?

-I have asked the agency multiple times to provide me a copy of the lease but they have failed to do so.

-I would be leaving the house before the end of the lease, the agency already said I will loose my deposit. Nothing to do about that I suppose? :(

Should I seek help from solicitor that has experience in these issues?

Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend!!!

Is there a current signed lease, still with time to go or are you merely paying the rent based on an old lease - int his situation, you have what is called a Part 4 lease.

You are likely entitled to assign your part of the lease to a new person (reasonably acceptable to the other tenants and the landlord). Assuming no damage, etc. you should get your deposit back.

    Thanks Victor,

    that's wonderful.

Now the situation is getting interesting, since I gave the notice I wanted to leave, my flatmate is physically threatening me, since he is a huge guy and I'm kinda small, what advice can you give me?

    not that easy :)

if from verbal threatening the things get to physical, should I call the garda? Will that be useful?

So here (I really hope) is the last update on what happened.

Basically it is what went on Saturday/Sunday.

So long story made short, this guy nearly run over with his car my gf, tried to push me out of the road with his car while I was driving, death threatened me, never seen a biggest ****er in my entire life.

The garda said they could not do anything more than take a statement since it was my word against his, and what he did was no more than "dangerous driving".

So I got a van, got a garda to come with me went there packed all my stuff in the van and went away, hopefully never to be seen again.

So this last bit the "never to be seen again" worries me. the last thing that bothers me with this guy is that I am waiting on some mail to be delivered, there is something important I don't want him to have. Any ideas on what I can do? the mail redirection service takes 5 working days.

Last thing I don not know what to do with the landlord, I don't get any answer on the phone, I probably have lost my deposit and I cant hand in my notice, if that guys sees me around there he is going to run me over.
Can I brake out of the contract on the basis of a personal security risk?

    Any ideas?

    Hope this nightmare is over.

"Can I brake out of the contract on the basis of a personal security risk?" - it may be an issue.

Talk to An Post, explain you have been to the Garda and see what they can do. Is it possible to ask the sender of the letter to use your new address?
