Hello, everyone! I need to get to Walkinstown Mall, 78 Walkinstown Road, Dublin 12 from Maynooth. Is there anyone know which public transport I need to take to get there? Do I have to get to Dublin city centre first or is there any other way? I have searched on Google, but haven’t found anything valuable. I’m quite new here, just moved to Ireland 2 months ago. Many thanks for the help!

The Dublin Bus Route Planner works really well.

Two buses will get you virtually there.

The 66 or 66X from Maynooth to Palmerstown Village (66x departures are those from Straffan Road) and then route 18 from around the corner on Kennelsfort Road to Walkinstown (Halfway House). It's about a five minute walk from there along Walkinstown Road.

Allow about 30-35 minutes for the 66 to get to Palmerstown and then 20-25 minutes for the 18 to get to Walkinstown.

You can see all the stops by clicking on "view map" on each timetable page.

Seriously? I think it's a great tool, particularly for someone who's "quite new here" and the OP could use it again and again.

    Ah well.

What's not constructive about directing the OP to a useful guide? The OP said he'd searched on Google so obviously is not computer illiterate and being new to the country I'm sure will find the info very useful.

Aside from the journey planner being generally awful, e.g. it doesn't have "Walkinstown Mall" and the stop numbers aren't related to the street numbers and it sorts Kilnamanagh Road before "Walkinstown Road" when you search for "Walkinstown Road", the post came across as curt and I took that to be rudeness. I apologise if I am wrong.
