First audi service

Car is due for first service soon and I would like to have full dealer history stamped on my service book. To get this I think I would have to travel to Dublin which really dosen't suit. There is a well known audi dealer locally much cheaper quoted than there Dublin counterparts,(i'm not sure if there still audi dealer but I remember them saying they were not authorised to do warranty work if needed and they would have to charge me fair enough). But assuming standard service was okay and they stamped my service book would this have any negative effect when selling the car compared to a audi dealership stamp that could do warranty work in Dublin, Thanks in advance for any remarks.

Sounds like the local garage is not an Audi dealership? If this is the case then you'll have to prove that they did the correct work at the correct time and used original Audi parts in order to get any future warranty work done.

A VW stamp would suffice - this is as it used to be before Audi starting thinking of little old Ireland in their plans to dominate the luxury car market worldwide

You don't need a main dealer stamp to cover the warranty.

Once the car is service to audi scheduals by a registered garage then thats all thats needed.

Just be careful they use Audi spec oil and filter etc. For the sake of a few euro it could cause a lot of hassle if you need warranty work.

I heard Sheehy motors in NAAS are not an authorised Audi service centre anymore.

Does that mean they are not an Audi dealership either?

Ah sure as people on here like to tell you that sure you're only buying a tarted up VW anyway. (I don't agree)

If your not close to an Audi dealer a VW dealer will carry all parts required for an Audi service and the systems to diagnose any issues and will know their way around the car.

Audi and VW share many engines and if the engine isn't shared amongst the group it because it is a special car (s rs etc)

As for dealers not being official Audi dealers anymore it has nothing to do with the dealer itself it is just that Audi have decided to set up and operate their own outlets allowing total control.
